How to pass the course
Your course grade (1--5) is based on two home exams. To pass the exams --and to successfully follow the lectures-- you will need to read quite a lot of background material (RFCs, technical articles). Though attendance is both recommended and appreciated, you are free to attend to as few or as many lectures they want.
The course is worth 4 credits, which corresponds to approximately 100 hours of effort. 25% of this is allocated to attending to lectures --again, which you can if you want to--, 50% to reading background material and 25% is allocated to the two home exams.
Home exams
You will have approximately one month to submit each home exam. The home exam delivery is a two page essay paper with four titles each. The course is graded 1--5 based on the sum of points from the two home exams.
Home exam schedule: HE I: 30.1.--27.2.2006, HE II 27.3.--2.5.2006. Note the extended (and corrected) deadline for Home Exam II.
