Interactive Embodied Emotional Experience

Welcome to INTERACTIVE EMBODIED EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE

IEEE is a research effort funded by the Academy of Finland scheduled for the years 2006-2008. The aim is to design, develop and evaluate novel solutions for emotional embodied interaction with computers. We work mainly with post-WIMP style interaction (WIMP = windows+icons+menus+pointer), and focus on emotional and embodied exchanges between the human and computer in hands-free or multimodal interactions, including video based tracking, gaze-based interaction and sound installations.

Our interdisciplinary research group combines solid technological skills, understanding of the human consumer, and design expertice for innovative applications. The Art&Magic research group at Department of Media Technology works in close cooperation with artists, psychologists and media researchers to investigate the experiences involved in interactive media usage.
