Reasearch Seminar on Digital Media
Pervasive Computing

The course is about the new visible and invisible information applications. This omnipresent technology has many names: pervasive computing, ubiquitous computing and ambient intelligence.

The key element of pervasive computing is the omnipresence of information devices. These devices can be embedded into cars, planes and even clothes. They may also be independent information appliances: mobile phones, screenphones or PDAs. This seminar focuses on the many emerging technologies and the sercives they enable.

The seminar is based on Uwe Hansmann's book Pervasive Computing Handbook. Most of the seminar topics come from this book.
